7 Steps to Get Closer to What You Really Want
But first, let’s just slow down and take a couple of minutes to relax properly before getting into the task.
Get a cuppa beside you, get all other distractions out of sight and a notebook and pen ready to use. Sit tall in your chair, ground your feet on the floor and close your eyes. Take some deep breaths – breathe in through your nose for 5 seconds, out through the mouth for 8 seconds and repeat 3-5 times before opening your eyes again.
Take the time now to get some clarity for yourself and think about the situation/area of your life which you are feeling a bit stuck.
7 self-reflective questions to ask yourself
Answer these 7 questions, which will help you to get clearer on your values and what’s really important to you, raise your self-awareness (which is the first step to change) and increase motivation again in the pursuit of your goals.
Think about you at your best. What are you like?
What is your biggest dream or goal?
What does it mean to you to achieve your dreams or goals and why are they worth fighting for?
What’s in your way towards your dream?
Rank the most important things in your life (career, money, family, love, health, knowledge…)
What is the proportion of time dedicated to these items accordingly? (if most of your time is given to the less important things, you should think about reprioritising your daily tasks)
What motivates you?
